Account control

Delete your account

The fastest and safest path is inside SparrowTalk. If you no longer have the app, you can start a verified deletion request by email—no website login is required.

Deletion is permanent. It removes the SparrowTalk account and Account Library. It does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription or automatically issue a refund.

Delete in the app

This is the recommended option.

  1. Open SparrowTalk and select Profile.
  2. Select Delete account.
  3. Reauthenticate when requested.
  4. Review the consequences and confirm permanent deletion.

The account is deleted when SparrowTalk confirms success. A recent sign-in is required to prevent unauthorized deletion.

Request deletion by email

You can use this option without the app.

  1. Use the email address associated with your SparrowTalk account.
  2. Open the prepared request below.
  3. Reply to any verification message sent to the address recorded on the account.
Email a deletion request

We will complete a verified request within 30 days unless a shorter period is required by applicable law.

We never need your secrets. Do not send a password, one-time code, Google or Apple credential, authentication token, payment information, or document content. Support verifies control through the address recorded on the account.

Before deleting a paid account

If SparrowTalk Plus is set to auto-renew, first use Manage subscription in SparrowTalk or the App Store/Google Play subscription settings to stop future renewal. Store billing, cancellation, transaction history, and refunds are controlled by Apple or Google. You can still delete the SparrowTalk account immediately without cancelling first.

What SparrowTalk deletes

  • Your Firebase Authentication identity and profile, including account identifier, display name, email/provider address, verification state, and linked provider records controlled by SparrowTalk.
  • Your Account Library, including stored document files and text, document metadata, reading position and progress, vocabulary and learning cards, goals, language preferences, and account-scoped settings.
  • Your optional-cloud-processing decision and other account preferences.
  • SparrowTalk’s subscription access projection and usage records for the account.
  • The RevenueCat customer record queued for provider deletion as part of the server cleanup process.
  • The deleted account’s local replica on the active device after successful deletion.

What may remain

  • Apple or Google subscription, purchase, refund, and transaction records controlled by the applicable store.
  • Unrelated device-level settings and already downloaded public neural or translation model files that are not account records.
  • De-identified aggregate results that can no longer reasonably be linked to the account.
  • Provider backups while they cycle out, diagnostic records under their normal retention, and records narrowly required for legal obligations or security.
  • A short-lived deletion fence used only to reject late writes while cleanup settles; it expires under the service retention configuration.

If something goes wrong

Keep the confirmation or error shown by SparrowTalk and contact support.sparrowtalk@gmail.com from the account address. Do not repeatedly create or delete the account while a request is being investigated.
